What is the difference between an objective and an initiative?
An objective is an outcome you want to be true. An initiative is a coherent body of work intended to advance that outcome. Collapsing them produces either unmeasurable projects or goals with no delivery plan.
OKRs vs projects
Projects organize delivery. OKRs organize outcomes. Product teams need both — plus initiatives as the bridge when a single project is too small for the strategic intent.
How objectives become initiatives
Ask: “What bodies of work would make this objective believable?” Those answers are initiative candidates. Then attach tickets and daily plans so progress is inspectable.
How WorkHub models the relationship
WorkHub links objectives to initiatives and initiatives to tickets, with My Day for daily execution. Progress comes from completed work — not from inventing AI executive summaries.
